Editorial policy
Our editorial process starts with a specific question and a document that can answer it. We check the document's scope, quote the passage, and write the claim from that record. No outside reviewer has taken part yet, and we say so instead of implying otherwise.
Sources first
Program rules come from the program or the agency that runs it. Product specifications come from the manufacturer. Prices come from the seller and must state what the seller includes and excludes. A seller's summary of a benefit can raise a question; it does not answer one.
There is no professional reviewer yet
No benefits counselor, geriatric care professional, clinician or installer takes part in our editorial process today, and no page carries a reviewer credit. Because the funding guides need that review, every funding guide and the funding eligibility checker stay unpublished until a qualified reviewer completes a review bound to the exact page content. We will name a reviewer and a review date only after that happens.
Dates describe work actually done
A new build does not make a source newer. The date beside a source is the day we captured it, and the updated date on a page is the day its content changed. The two describe different work and stay separate.
Corrections
When a re-check or a reader report shows an error, we fix the page and move its updated date. Send reports to [email protected] with the page address and the wording in question; the report a mistake page lists what helps.
